Which State Reps Incumbents Should Go?

All politics are local, and while we focus on a lot of the national players, such as our Julie Fedorchaks and our John Hoevens, we also have our local reps and senators for our state.
These local reps may float underneath our radar as they’re not on the public stage everyday.
The easiest retention rate is that they are an incumbent, and people would just vote to keep or kick mostly due to party affiliation.

Methodology

For our methodology, we consider the voting records as hard evidence of what a state rep chose to support and advance as part of their agenda.

List of Voted Bills

Values

Easy Vote ND’s Values we care for:

  • Welfare support for disadvantaged groups – This includes children’s free lunches, helping elderly or lower income individuals. Negative Points if they vote against these things
  • Separation of Church and State – Negative Points if they introduce bills that try to merge these two entities
  • No MAGA Syncophants – Negative Points for voting and introducing culture war issues

Single Issue Decisions

HB-1475 HP-1624 HP-1627– Free school lunches were voted on and failed. Now it’s setup as a ballot initiative and left up to the voters.
HB-1145 Separation of Church and State, we are not that keen on.

Other Organization’s Score Cards

We can look at Score Cards from other Organizations. You can take a look at some key issues.

Greater North Dakota Chamber – We don’t necessarily agree on some of the issues that are very pro-business. So a High Score here is a lower score for us.
North Dakota Family Alliance – This Pro Family has some bills that are a bit concerning for us, such as charter skill support, which we’re against. High score hear is a lower score for us.
The Freedom Index – The issues that this organization supports is neither small government nor independent. So high on this is very lower to us.
